CPR AED Defibrillator First Aid Training Certification Classes
CPR
Sudden cardiac arrest? What is that? When someone you know or love suffers from a sudden cardiac arrest, also known as a SCA, the heart stops functioning normally. The heart is no longer pumping blood to the brain and vital organs of the body. After 5 minutes the brain starts to die, and slowly so does the victim. A person's chance of survival decreases 10% every minute until CPR is initiated and an AED is applied.
So what can help your friend, co-worker, or loved one? Two things. CPR and an Automated External Defibrillator, or AED. When CPR is initated and an AED is used on a victim that suffered a SCA within 3 minutes the chance of survival increases up to 75%.
First Aid
Every second someone somewhere is getting hurt. If you were there when it happens, would you know what to do? Does your employer, or someone else require that you have training in basic first aid?
Knowing the basics of first aid can make a big difference in a person's recovery. Understanding the basics can go a long way. You can take a basic first aid course, or a first responder course if you need more than the basics. If you like to go camping, or you are a troop leader take advantage of our wilderness first aid course.
